    Adventure Accreditation International (AAI) core activities are accreditation services, networking and outdoor activity related resources.

    Privacy statement
    If you are a user with general public and anonymous access the Adventure Accreditation International web site does not store or capture personal information but merely logs the user's IP address that is automatically recognised by the web server. We do not use cookies for collecting user information and we will not collect any information about you except that required for system administration of our web server.

    Data Protection
    Adventure Accreditation International is a privacy conscious organisation and is strongly committed to your right to privacy.

    The AAI will not collect personal information unless it is necessary for one or more of our functions or activities. We believe that those who record and process personal information must be open about how the information is used and must follow the principles of ‘good information handling’. Personal data must be

    • Fairly and lawfully processed
    • Processed for limited purposes
    • Adequate, relevant and not excessive
    • Accurate
    • Not kept for longer than is necessary
    • Processed in line with your rights
    • Secure, and
    • Personal data will not be transferred unless that country provides an adequate level of protection

    Information may be collected:

    • applying, reapplying and during accreditation processes
    • acceptance for inclusion on a mailing list or database
    • for research, surveys or monitoring purposes
    • by entering into email or telephone correspondence with an employee of Adventure Accreditation International
    • through obtaining information for HR records
    • at the time of making purchases

    All personally identifiable information provided to Adventure Accreditation International is processed in accordance with the principles of standard data protection legislation for the purposes of:

    •  processing payment
    • determining suitability for accreditations
    • direct marketing of the AAI product and services and possible related products and services

    The information will be collected lawfully and fairly, and not in an unreasonably intrusive way. We will insofar as reasonably possible collect the information from the individual or organisation. We aim to collect the minimum information possible.     Use and Disclosure
    It is Adventure Accreditation International policy to only disclose information to third parties if explicitly required to do so by law.
    Adventure Accreditation International will obtain your consent before passing on any information to any third parties.
    Adventure Accreditation International does not collect or compile personally identifying information for dissemination or sale to external parties for marketing purposes.

    We will not use or disclose personal information about our clients other than for the purpose stated at the time of collection. Where we use the information for direct marketing purposes we will ensure that it is not sensitive information and that the Associate has the opportunity to suppress their information from marketing campaigns at no charge.

    Data Quality
    AAI will reasonably ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. When the information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to destroy personal information.

    Data Security
    Reasonable steps are taken to protect the personal information we hold from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

    Access and Correction
    Associates can request access to their personal information that we keep on record. If the client believes that any information is incorrect or out of date, they may ask us to correct it. Written consent for disclosure of information is required to be sent to AAI by the individual to access personal information and may not be otherwise disclosed without the individuals written consent. There is no fee for requesting access to Associates information, however we may charge for reasonable cost of processing the request.

    Trans-Border Data Flows
    AAI will only transfer personal information about an individual to a foreign country with less privacy protection in specified circumstances. It is our policy not to transfer sensitive or personal information to countries with a lower level of privacy protection.
    Services which identify individuals and which are available to non-subscribers via our website are limited to data regarding individuals, companies and businesses and widely available information sources.
